The Rowden Way
At Rowden Abbey, clay shoots focus on sport, camaraderie and celebration. With minimal travel between pegs — and a gator available for those who need it — the day flows smoothly, letting you spend more time shooting and less time waiting.
- 3,000 Promatic eco-friendly, compostable clays across five varied drives
- 10–16 guns on paired pegs
- Two slabs of fibre-wad cartridges required per gun
- Optional loader available (£30 per day)
- Set within woodland, valley and pasture, with duck and pheasant in the landscape for added interest
A Day in the Field
09:30 – Arrival on Gladstone Terrace with views across rolling pasture.
Enjoy bacon baps, tea and coffee before sign-in and safety briefing.
Morning Drives – Two challenging drives across the estate.
11:30 – Tipples and nibbles in the field.
Midday Drives – Two more drives, designed to test skill and sharpen the eye.
13:30 – Lunch in the Abbey’s historic dining room, served with Prosecco, Port, lager, cider and soft drinks.
Afternoon Drive – Final drive and high bird or rolling rabbit competition, with a prize for best shot.
16:30 – Shooting ends with more tipples and nibbles.
17:30 – A three-course early supper at the Abbey, including cheeseboard, with wine and port.
Extend your Stay
Why not turn your shoot into a full country house experience? Add an overnight stay in one of the Abbey’s bedrooms from just £90 per room.
With roaring fires, William Morris interiors and 30 acres of grounds, it’s the perfect way to round off a day in the field.
